Bloating can be attributed to constipation. The more the stool stays in your colon, the bacteria have more time to ferment what’s inside your colon. Here are simple tips to address your constipation problem.

1. Add some fiber to your meal

Adding some fiber may help in adding some volume to your stool which may help things move out from your intestines. Consuming these foods may help you in your constipation problems:

  • Green leafy vegetables
  • Corn
  • Oats
  • Black and brown rice
  • Banana
  • Avocado

According to Alysa Hullet of Greatist, drinking water after eating these foods will help your stool moving

2. Drink more water

Apart from eating food with fiber, drinking more water can keep your bowel movement healthy. Constipation is the result when your colon is dehydrated. When you drink plenty of water, less water will be lost from your colon making it easier for your stool to move out.

3. Exercising

One of the helpful tips in addressing your constipation is to exercise. Regular exercise can increase your blood flow.

“Exercise helps constipation by lowering the time it takes food to move through the large intestine. This limits the amount of water your body absorbs from the stool,” WedMD reported.

“Aerobic exercise speeds up your breathing and heart rate. This helps to stimulate the natural squeezing (or contractions) of muscles in your intestines. Intestinal muscles that squeeze better will help move stools out quickly,” it added.

4. Abdominal massage

Abdominal massage can help in addressing your constipation problem, especially in making bowel movement easy and relieve discomfort when you have chronic constipation.

5. Add flaxseed oil in your oatmeal

Flaxseed oil can be beneficial for diarrhea and constipation.

As cited in the report of Healthline, “a study showed that flaxseed oil acted as a laxative to promote regularity, all while acting as an antidiarrheal agent”.

Moreover, this can help increase the frequency of pooping and at the same time, increase the consistency of your stool.

All in all, these natural tips will help you depending on your chronic constipation problem. It is very important to seek an appointment with your doctor to treat your health condition appropriately. Keep in mind that if constipation is not treated, it can lead to hemorrhoids or rectal prolapse.
